The growth predictions for the KPO industry in India are looking very good indeed! Infact according to Gartner, a global research company, we are going to see growth of 25-30% in this sector by 2013. The only problem here is the fact that there just aren't enough trained research and data analysts. And that is something that needs to be addressed soon if the numbers have to increase from 40,000 analysts currently to 100,000!
The good news is people are beginning to see the scope of this market now. A group of industry experts have come together to address the demand-supply gap by starting N-CARE, an institute that offers MBA and BBA courses in Information Management.
The founders and faculty have tried to make sure the course curriculum is extremely intensive and they have also partnered with KPO companies like, SAP, HP, HCL, Accenture, amongst many others to give their students hands-on experience as they work on Live Projects as part of their course. This literally means students start work with these companies, while also attending training sessions with industry leaders.
So are institutes like N-CARE going to be an answer to the dearth of analysts in India? Or will more and more KPO's need to step in with their own training programmes?
